Thank you so much for taking the time to consider me to do your permanent makeup and/or hair removal. If you’re anything like me… I want to make sure I work with someone I can trust. This is especially important when it comes to my appearance. I want someone who will treat me the way I want to be treated.
I am a “retired” photographer of 20 years. God blessed me with a talent that I didn’t know I had all my life and it grew into a successful business. In November of 2016 my oldest daughter got married and my youngest daughter went to college. That left me and my sweet husband of over 25 years rethinking our life. I decided that although God had blessed me so much, I was ready for a change. I took a leap of faith and set out for a “New Beginning” with permanent makeup! After much prayer and courage, I went back to school! Yep… at 44 years old, I did it! I went to school at “The Beauty and Health Institute” in Tampa, Florida. There, I got my certification to perform permanent makeup. I chose this school because they were the only school in Florida that teaches all 3 methods of Permanent Makeup application.
Since the Beauty and Health Institute, I’ve attended advanced classes in Eyeliner, Brows, and Lip tinting, Areola Pigmentation, and more. I believe that continuing my education makes me better and confident in my profession! And, yes….. my hair went through some changes too! lol
I’m always continuing to take classes. Just recently, I’ve added Laser Hair Removal and Electrolysis to my business. This is such an exciting at the ripe young age of 50, lol!! I went back to “school” and successfully passed the Florida State Board exam for Electrology and Laser Hair removal.
Honestly… I’m one happy girl. I’ve been blessed with more than I deserve. The Lord is my Shepherd and I give HIM all the glory for all the goodness in my life. I hope to be a blessing to you somehow.

Missy’s Ink Adds Laser Hair Removal And Electrolysis To Top-tier Service Offerings
Missy’s Ink is now ‘Missy’s Ink & Laser’ after adding laser hair removal and electrolysis to its lineup of services for women in the Valrico area, allowing customers to add hair where they want and remove hair where they do not.
“I am thrilled to be able to offer laser hair removal and electrolysis to my clients,” said owner Missy Duncan. “These services are in high demand, and I am excited to be able to provide them in a safe and comfortable environment.”
Duncan completed her International Board of Electrologist Certification Exam on April 12. In addition to her new certifications, Duncan purchased a Soprano ICE laser hair removal machine. The machine provides virtually painless hair removal because the tip of the laser is -3 degrees Celsius.
Missy’s Ink & Laser is also one of few studios in the area to offer electrolysis, a hair removal service for women with lighter-colored hair.
“I’ll be one of the few people in this area who do electrolysis. It’s kind of a dying field but it is still needed,” explained Duncan.
Duncan’s certification was a huge accomplishment for her at 50 years old. After an over 30-hour laser and light-based hair removal course by the Florida Electrolysis Council, Duncan had to go to Orlando to take the exam.
“I’ve always not been a good test taker, so I was scared to death,” admitted Duncan. “But I had something to prove to myself pretty much. … It’s a huge accomplishment for sure.”
Duncan started Missy’s Ink in 2017 after being a photographer for 20 years. Looking for a change, a door opened for her to start her career in permanent makeup.
“God just lays it all out for you. When one door opens and another one closes, you kind of just run through it,” said Duncan.
Missy’s Ink offers permanent makeup, including areola pigmentation for breast cancer patients, in addition to hair removal services.
“I always try to treat my clients the way I would like to be treated as a client,” said Duncan. “And making women feel comfortable.”
