AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS
After Care Instructions for Eye Brows and Eyeliner:
- We will give you a small container of an ointment we trust from our product supplier. It has various oils that are proven to be beneficial to healing. We recommend using it 3 or more times per day to keep your newly pigmented skin moisturized. Or, if you prefer, apply a very small amount of A & D Ointment or Vaseline with a clean Q-tip several times a day for 3-4 days. Do not allow eyeliner to dry out for the (especially the first 72 hours.
- Be careful not to get A & D Ointment, Vaseline, or other oils used in your eyes and do not apply A & D Ointment over tear ducts.
- Itching is also common. Do not scratch or pick as this may cause insufficient pigment to the area.
- Keep eyeliner clean by allowing water to gently flow over them in the shower. Avoid direct water pressure. You may pat them with a clean cool or warm washcloth. Do not wash your eyes with soap or facial cleanser for 3-4 days, during the healing period.
- Do not wear contacts, eye shadow or mascara during the healing period of 3-4 days. A good idea is to wipe down all cosmetics and brushes with rubbing alcohol.
- Avoid tanning booths, pools and hot tubs for at least one week after procedure to prevent infection.
Make sure to avoid ALL of the following: • Increased sweating, practicing sports, swimming, hot sauna, hot bath or jacuzzi, sun tanning or salon tanning. • Any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing Retin-A or Glycol Acid on the face or neck. • Picking, peeling or scratching of the micro pigmented area in order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment. • Performing tasks related to heavy household cleaning such as garage or basement cleaning where there is a lot of airborne debris. • Drinking alcohol in excess as it may lead to slow healing of wounds. • Driving in open air vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bicycles or motorcycles. • Touching of the eyebrow area except for when rinsing and applying the post-care cream with a cotton swab. • Before showering apply a layer of post-care cream to protect your eyebrows from moisture. During the shower keep your face away from the shower head. Itching and flaking may appear during the first seven days post microblading procedure, However, experience has shown that by following these aftercare instructions these symptoms may quickly disappear. • Once completely healed, always apply a layer of sunscreen SPF 30 on your eyebrows when exposed to the sun. Sun exposure might cause the color pigment to fade away more quickly. *Brows may oxidize and get darker before they soften in the healing process, this is normal.
Eye Infections:
- Eye infections are not common, but of course they can happen at any time.
- Do not use too much A & D Ointment or Vaseline! A & D Ointment acts as a magnet to allergens like smoke, dust, dirt, chemicals and pet dander, which can cause an eye infection. Do not place A & D Ointment over tear ducts.
- Do not touch your eyes with dirty fingers. Wash hands extremely well and use clean Q-tips!
- If eye irritation occurs, stop using the A & D Ointment immediately. Clean eyes by washing off ointment, and rinse with buffered eyewash. Contact your physician for antibiotic eye drops.
Post Procedure information for lips:
- Continue taking the antiviral prescribed medication from your doctor or dentist if you have a history of cold sores.
- It is normal for your lips to be extremely bright and swollen after your appointment.
- Gently apply A & D Ointment or Vaseline unto your lips several times a day until they completely exfoliate.
- Your lips will exfoliate in approximately 4 days, resulting in a soft natural color. The color may seem to have completely disappeared. After 3-4 weeks you will notice the color reappearing. It takes at least two applications of pigment to achieve optimal color; a dark “lipstick look” cannot realistically be achieved.
- Do not apply lipstick for one week after procedure.
- Lips tend to be extremely dry for a few weeks after procedure. Chap stick or a lip moisturizer with a sunscreen will help your lips to feel moist during this healing period.
- Avoid hot tubs, chlorinated swimming pools, and tanning booths for one week.
- Sun damage, scar tissue, cold sores, dense lip tissue and a history of smoking may limit the amount of color your lips will take. Some clients obtain great color saturation, and others retain little color. Final results cannot be guaranteed.
- Avoid tanning booths, pools and hot tubs for at least one week after procedure to prevent infection. *Tanning booths and outdoor sun will fade your permanent makeup. Please cover with sunscreen to lessen fading.
